I taught Ruto everything he knows, he cannot stop ‘BBI reggae’

ODM leader Raila Odinga now says that Ruto does not have the range to stop the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

During an interview with KTN, Raila said he was not apprehensive of Ruto’s anti-BBI stance and wished him luck in stopping the “BBI reggae”.

“Ruto is just one person among 47 million Kenyans, he initially said he would support BBI and then started blowing hot and cold but now he has said he will stop reggae, I wish him all the best,” Raila said.

The former premier went on to say that Ruto cut his teeth under his tutelage downplaying earlier claims by the Deputy President that his team has the muscle to stop the BBI.

Further, he  asked Ruto to wake up from his ‘stopping the BBI dream’, saying: “The BBI train had already left the station and was unstoppable.”

On whether he has personal differences with Ruto, Raila said he has no intentions of sparring with the DP, saying he was the one who recruited Ruto to the “change movement” and helped him hone his political skills.

Raila also rubbished the criticism from Central Kenya leaders allied to Ruto saying their noises were like those of frogs that would not stop the cows from quenching their thirst.

At the same time, he asked the handshake critics to fasten their seatbelts  and see the waves that would sweep across Kenya including Central Kenya which will hold its BBI rally in Meru over the weekend.

On Sunday, DP Ruto who was attending a church service at the Full Gospel Gatunduri Church in Embu said those saying that “nobody can stop reggae” in regard to the BBI report should wait and see it being stopped.

The deputy president said the BBI rally that took place in Narok the previous day was used to spread hatred and fear, vowing that he would not be blackmailed or threatened.
