“Property of unknown value has been destroyed at Ikuu Boys High School in Tharaka. Students went on a rampage and torched down at least four dormitories on Sunday night. The school has since been closed indefinitely.” Hon Victor says

This follows a few days after the ministry addressed the closing day for schools during this December holiday. It was however noted by the government that the students have been using the wrong forms of communication whenever they have a burning issue. This was also linked to the bad behaviours that may call for introduction of caning and corporal punishment.

The cause of unrest in Ikuu high school is under investigation and will be communicated by the relevant organs of the Government.
