KPSEA Results 2023 release date and Grade 7 transition 2024

Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) 2023 results are set to be released in January 2024.

KPSEA is an assessment test set by KNEC to project on the progress of CBC learners and marking the end of primary school education. Afterwards, the learner is expected to transition to the next learning level, which is Junior School, that is domiciled in Kenya Primary Schools.

In the year 2023, 1.4 million learners sat for the assessment from 30th October to 1st November 2023.

The marking process was done by the Kenya National Youth Service officers with the help of the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) Machines.

The marking exercise was completed in December, but the KPSEA result 2023 has not been released yet.

The delay in the release of the results has spiked discussions attracting political intervention.

Recently, Hon. Opiyo Wandayi, who is the elected Member of Parliament Ugunja Constituency, pointed a direct finger to the Ministry of Education for delayed results.

According to Opiyo Wandayi, the delayed release of KPSEA results will affect the transition of grade 6 learners to grade 7.

“The 2023 KPSEA results have not been released, hence inhibiting the transition to grade 7, which is to open school on 8/01/2024. Parents don’t know what to do, and so are the school administrators, making the CBC implementation a joke.

At the very least, the government should have given guidelines on when these learners should report to schools.

Meanwhile, no capitation has reached any school, and NG-CDF bursaries are in limbo.” Hon. Opiyo Wandayi posts on X (Formally Twitter).
