Schools closed ahead of Maandamano on Wednesday, 19th July 2023
Ministry of Education sufferers a blow following the Maandamano Wednesday 19th 2023. This is after the Ministry of Interior and National Administration announced the closure of day schools in Nairobi and Mombasa.
Maandamano, wednesday is calendaring for wednesday, Thursday, and Friday as earlier on announced by Azimio One-Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga.
In the previous demos, schools in the mentioned areas have fallen in the mix, with learners being teargassed, leaving others badly injured.
Raila Odinga has remained firm to hold Maandamano for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, defying governments order to call off his plans.
“As a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of learners, it has been decided that ALL day Primary and Secondary schools within Nairobi and Mombasa Counties SHALL remain closed tomorrow” Ministry of Interior and National Administration updates.
