Knut Rejects Bid to Demote Non-Graduate School Headteachers

Kenya National Union Of Teachers (Knut) opposes the bid to demote all non-graduate head-teachers. The proposal to demote the non-graduate school heads was tabled by president William Ruto’s working party on education reforms (PWPER).
Knut led by their secretary general Collins Oyuu opposed the move. Knut said non-graduate teachers only need more time to complete their degrees.
“Knut supports the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms radical reforms, which are yet to be promulgated by H.E William Ruto to make them official. But on the issue of demoting principals, we oppose the move,” Oyuu said.
