Kirinyaga Women Representative Hon. Jane Njeri Maina is currently nursing injuries after being attacked by goons on the 22nd of August 2023.
The drama was witnessed at Kerugoya Police post where two rival groups clashed.
Njeri Maina got injured as a victim after following her client Baragwi MCA David Mathenge to record a statement on vandalizing a county government water project at Mukandu-ini village.
Addressing the press after recording the statement yesterday, Jane Njeri Maina said she would represent the MCA if he is taken to court.
“Mathenge had done nothing wrong because I was issuing cheques to a women’s group when residents of Mukandu-ini demanded water as the project had stayed for long and they were waiting for it to be opened and only one person had been using water from the project,” Jane assured.
According to the recent information, when Njeri was addressing the press, goons suspected to be aligned with Governor Anne Waiguru walked in and attacked MCA David supporters.
Njeri Maina is currently nursing injuries at Nairobi Hospital.
