Azimio Council launch hunt for Raila Odinga running mate 2022
Nairobi, Kenya, April, 20, 2022 – Hunting for Raila Odinga’s Running mate begins.
Azimio Council today launched the process to seek for the deputy President running mate. The council lead by President Uhuru Kenyatta said the council will be mandated to vet and thoroughly examine the interested candidates.
According to the press release at KICC, the coalition leadership chaired by H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga is ready to face any issues that may arise. They promised to solve critical issues in the coalition with fairness to the parties involved.
Sticking on the issue of the running mate, the top candidates in questions are Hon. Martha Karua and Kalonzo Musyoka. The women in Azimio la Umoja have exerted pressure on the need for Raila Odinga to choose on Martha Karua.
They say it’s high time women are given a chance in the top seat.
On the other hand Hon Kalonzo Musyoka still holds his position. He says he is the most qualified Raila Odinga’s presidential running mate.
From Kalonzo Musyoka, he has supported Raila Odinga for two terms hence he is not ready to give in for any other person. He was also once a deputy President and the experience he got earns him some points to be chosen on.
