Village Elders who have been helping the government in administration services will have a reason to smile.
This is after the Bill by Kibwezi West Mp Mwengi Muteusi to remunerate 45,000 members working in the country.
The Village Elders will now be pocketing Kshs. 7000 and Kshs4000 sitting allowance.
This will be a motivating move to the Village Elders who have been tirelessly working to maintain law and order in their respective regions.
They have also been acting as mediators, ensuring quarrelling members of the community arrive at a peaceful resolution.
