Registrar of Societies has cancelled the registration of Newlife Prayer Centre a Church linked to Pastor Ezekiel Odero after being linked to money laundering and cult.
Newlife Prayer Centre is among other churches suffering the blow on revocation of their registration.
The move by government follows government investigations to crack down rogue churches. This is after the Shakahola Scandal that left over 400 dead.
Other churches deregistered include Helicopter of Christ Church by pastor Thomas Wahome, Theophilus Church, Kings Outreach Church, and Goodnews International Ministries owned by Pastor Paul Mackenzie.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 12 (1) of the Societies Act, the Registrar of Societies cancels the registration of the societies specified in the first column of the Schedule, with effect from the respective dates specified in the third column of the Schedule,
Registrar of Societies Maria Nyariki.
