On Sunday 13th February 2022, Motorist were hit by braking news from the DCI Twitter Post. The post urged all people using Mai Mahiu Highway to be aware of the fire outbreak and use alternative routes.
This is after a truck that was ferrying gas cylinders along the busy road exploded into a very big fire that burned down the lorry into ashes with other four private vehicles.

“Motorists using the Nairobi – Mai Mahiu highway, are advised to use alternative routes as the relevant agencies restore normalcy, following an explosion of a truck ferrying gas cylinders along the busy highway.”
Even before investigations start, Netizens have taken their first step posting what is ringing their minds.

One of the popular and most Retweet post that carried some sense in it was if the truck carrying the gas cylinders observed safely precautions while ferrying the dangerous goods.
If this was 100% adhered to he goes ahead questioning if it may be linked to some terrorism? The investigations on the ground done proffesionaly is the only answer to the countless questions directed to the National Transport and Safety Authority. Kenyans are urged to remain calm.
“Did the truck carrying gas cylinders observe all safety requirements needed when carrying dangerous goods ? Was it act of terrorism ? Why were the gas cylinders not transported by rail which is safer and far from population ? What are preventive methods?”
