Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir today held a discussion with port stakeholders. This is the first step to retrieve the port services from Naivasha to Mombasa.

The round table discussion comes exactly one week after President William Samoei Ruto issued a presidential directive during his swearing in at Kasarani stadium in Nairobi.

The directive by the current president was to seek an immediate revision of port services to the county of Mombasa. H.E the Mombasa Governor welcomed the move positively since it points also to a solution that will revive the economy of the region.

After a vigorous assessment of the state of implementation of the directive, it was concluded to have made a slight progress but requires concerted effort by the K.P.A to limit excess bureaucracy and red tape that hampers business people from working.

Mombasa Governor promised to continue making consultations regularly as he looks forward to a full implementation fot the benefit of the Mombasa residents.
