Bad news to Lawyer Miguna Miguna after he misses on the list of DPP shortlisted candidates 2023.

The DPP – Director of Public Prosecution position became vacant after Mr. Noordin Haji was appointed by President to take up the role as the (National intelligence Service) NIS chief.

“Pursuant to the provision of Article 157 of the Constitution and section 8 ()1-(4) of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Act,2013, the selection panel invited applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Director of Public Prosecution in the print media and Commission website on June 28, 2023,” ODPP said in a gazette notice unveiling the DPP shortlisted candidates 2023.

Interview/Venue

Their interviews are set to take place earlier in August 2023 on 1st and 2nd.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed at the Public Service Commission, Commission House, Harambee Avenue, Nairobi, on the date and time indicated. Candidates should be at the venue at least fifteen (15) minutes before the starting
time.

Requirements

DPP shortlisted candidates 2023 will be required to produce originals of the following documents on interview day.

  1. National Identity Card;
  2. Academic and professional certificates and transcripts;
  3. Any other supporting documents and testimonials, and
  4. Current and valid Clearances from the following bodies a) Kenya Revue Authority b) Higher Education Loans Board c) A Registered Credit Reference Bureau d) Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance Certificate) e) Printed Online Self Declaration Application Acknowledgement Receipt or Self-Declaration Form duly stamped for this job application by the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission; and
  5. Letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission for University Education (CUE) for candidates who possess degrees from foreign universities; and
  6. Recommendation from relevant professional bodies and associations (where applicable).

Here is the ODPP 15 shortlisted candidates for DPP position 2023

1. Thomas Letangule

Thomas Letangule is a Kenyan citizen by birth and a former IEBC commissioner.

2. Danstan Omari

Danstan Omari is a prominent Kenyan Lawyer.

3. Taib Ali Taib

Taib Ali Taib is DPP’s special counsel in Kenya. He was born and raised and schooled in kenya.

He is a Kenyan, Fluent in 3 languages. These are English, Kiswahili, and Arabic. He studied at the Universtity of Nairobi (UN) and the Kenya School of Law.

He is a learned man with a degree holder in law obtained in 1987. He once served as an elected mayor of Mombasa in the year 2003.

4. Jacinta Nyamosi,

Jacinta Nyaboke Nyamosi is the Deputy Director in the Department of Offences Against the Person (OAP) in the Office of Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP)

5. Victor Mule,

Victor Vinya Mule is the Acting Deputy Director in the Department of County Affairs and Regulatory Services.

6. Tabitha Ouya,

Tabitha Ouya is the acting deputy director, public prosecution Head of Prosecutors Training Institute. She engages in capacity building for prosecutors and other staff of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions ,Kenya Relearning, recasting and retooling to keep abreast and responding to the ever-changing legal and socioeconomic environment.

7. David Ruto,

David Ruto is President William Ruto’s brother. His full name is David Samoei Ruto.

8. Andayi Francis,

Andayi Francis is a Kenyan Chief Magistrate, dispute resolution legal practitioner working with the Judiciary of Kenya.
