Ezra Chiloba Suspended as Communications Authority DG
Communications Authority of Kenya has suspended Ezra Chiloba as its director general.
Chiloba’s suspension update has been publicly revealed through an internal memo shared by Mary Mungai.
After his suspension, the vacuum has been filled by Mr. Christopher Wambua who will be executing his duties in the acting capacity until otherwise.
Despite sharing information that Ezra Chiloba has been suspended, no further information has been added, explaining the reasons why the CA director general was suspended.
“Following a meeting of the Authority’s Board held on 18th September 2023, resulting in the suspension of the Director General, I am pleased to inform all staff of the appointment of Mr Christopher Wambua as a Director General in Acting Capacity effective today until further notice. I trust that you will accord him the necessary support,” Mungai stated.
Ezra Chiloba has been in service for two years since he took over from Francis Wangusi, who retired in 2021.
Chiloba’s appointment came after he was spit out of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission in October, where he was the Chief Executive Officer in 2018.
