Deputy President William Ruto Urges County assemblies to work together
Deputy president has urged all Counties to work together and push for engagements over the report.
The Assemblies must work together and push for progressive engagements around the Building Bridges Initiative so that the leaders can build a consensus on the report.
He rebuked the HANDSHAKE founders and it’s supporters saying that they must shun a forced yes-no campaign that threatens to be retrogressive to the country.
“I must admit that divisive referendum process cannot be used to achieve a united country. We cannot continue forcing Kenyans to accept changes in the Constitution without gaining any benefits directly from the change” He stated
“We must at the moment prioritize the health of our people and focus on countering the effects of Covid 19.During a meeting with all the Members of the County Assembly of Wajir led by Majority Leader Mohamud Gabane and Minority Leader Abdi Hussein, Karen, Nairobi County.”
