TSC News: 70,486 Teachers administer KCSE 2021 Examinations

KCSE 2021 ADMINISTRATION

KCSE 2021 exams start across the country. Teachers Service Commission CEO Dr Nancy Macharia says TSC has deployed 70,486 Teachers. The Teachers are expected to administer the ongoing 2021 KCSE as either:-

  • Centre Managers
  • Supervisors
  • Invigilators
  • Examiners

TSC CEO Dr Nancy Macharia has said this at Naivasha Boys High school. She has taken part in overseeing the kick start of the national examinations. Accompanying her remarks Dr Macharia engages one on one talks as she addresses teachers at Naivasha Boys High School in Nakuru County.

Ministry of Education Warns

Candidates are expected to seat for day one papers. These are English (functional skills), English (functional skills) braille, English hearing impaired, Chemistry and Chemistry large print.

According to the MoE CS Prof George Magoha, the exam has started successfully. He also prepared learners not to worry for security has been strengthened across the centre.

The ministry has also set helicopters and pilots on standby incase of transportation and emergency. The ministry is working in conjunction with the Ministry of Interior Secretary lead by Dr Fred Matiang’i and the Ministry of ICT.

KCSE 2021 is being done during this particular time after Covid-19 outbreak hit the normal academic calendar. Previously the examinations were held in October and November.

The Government is striving to resume the normal calendar come the end of 2023. The strategy used has squeezed the holiday where much time has been allocated for school programmes and a 3 days midterm and 7 days maximum long holidays.
