Suspected Omicron Variant is behind Covid-19 surge in Kenya

Covid cases as announced by the Health Ministry Through Mutahi Kagwe has risen to 11.5%. The rise is alarming compared to the 6% infection rate which is not a gradual increase.

Mutahi Kagwe speaking to the nation drove his fears to the Omicron Variant that could be stimulating the surge. He also used the opportunity to urge all Kenyans yho have not received the Covid-19 Jab not to expect or access any government service starting from 21st of December 2021.

Health Cabinet Secretary Sen. Mutahi Kagwe briefed the media after inauguration of Kenya Biovax Institute limited Board at Kiikalloh Grand Resort in Machakos County. The board is set to install a vaccine production plant in the country which is aimed to deal with health issues and emergencies in future. This is one of the moves by the government in readiness to deal with emergencies in line of health issues.

When will Kenya start making its own Covid-19 Vaccines

Kenya is set to start local manufacture of Covid-19 vaccines by April next year as it seeks to cushion its citizens from future supply hitches. Supply hitches had derailed efforts to vaccinate its adult population.
