Safaricom Widens 5G coverage to 21 Counties

Kenyans in 21 Counties to enjoy high speed Internet after safaricom extends 5G network.

5G is a new global wireless standard after 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G networks.

The Kenyas Super Fast Internet will help citizens up their business as well as enjoy browsing in their homesteads.

Last year, 5G was only available in Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Kajiado, Kisumu, Mombasa, Kisii, and Kakamega. The new extension now covers Kilifi, Kwale, Nakuru, Laikipia, Uasin Gishu, Garissa, Kericho, and Marsabit.

After the official launch, Safaricom is now targeting over 400,000 5G subscribers to start enjoying a slowest speed of 400mbps to a highest speed of 700Mbps.

“The 5G bundles are personalised based on usage and are available on Tunukiwa via MySafaricom App, Safaricom.com, and USSD *444# or *544#,” said Safaricom.
