Safaricom ‘reconnects’ lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi’s SIM card after outburst on Twitter

Safaricom makes U-turn after shutting down Ahmednasir Abdullahi’s SIM card. The Kenyan based lawyer claims he has been using Safaricom services for like 15 years.

He threatened to move on an find another service provider and never use safaricom services again. After two hours Safaricom maked a u-turn and reconnects his sim card. Disconnection comes exactly the deadline scheduled by the CAK to ensure all Kenyans register or update their Sim cards.

On 15th October long cues were witnessed at the Tel-Com companies to beat the last minute rush.

“After 2 and half decades of being a loyal customer of @Safaricom_Care they unceremoniously switched off my line this sunday…tomorrow I will move to one of the competitors and will NEVER use their service again.I knew that short man will burn to ashes the House built by Michael!”

Another popular person in the country suffering disconnection is the Nandi County senator Hon. Kiprotich Arap Cherargei. He also expresses his disappointment asking for formation of a vibrant competitor who can outweigh Safaricom.

“After 15years of having safaricom @SafaricomPLC lines they have decided to switch off their services today morning inconveniencing me.
.we need a vibrant competitor to finish safaricom monopoly of communications any options ?
Competition Authority of kenya (CAK) over to you !”

Senator Ledama Olekina

On the contrary Narok Senator Ledama Olekina came to hit back on those making unnecessary complains on social media. Mr. Olekina pointed a direct finger to Nasir and Cherargei reminding that that they understand the law more that ordinary Kenyans.

Ledama advises them to use the provided channel instead of thinking they are above the law.

“Why are you guys bitching about @Safaricom_Care you know the law why can’t you just follow it like all other Kenyans? are too busy to queue and register your line? This impunity will kill you’ll @ahmednasirlaw @scherargei advocates of the high court.”
