Is 20th Of March 2023 a Public Holiday?

Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance leader Raila Odinga declared 20th March 2023 a Public Holiday.

He declared this on a political basis to give Kenyans an opportunity to join the rest in peace protests. The protests are aimed to push the Kenya Kwanza government in fulfilling their promises they made to the Kenyans.

Raila Odinga made the declaration after giving president William Ruto 14 days to lower the cost of living of else call for a mass action.

According to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya, Monday 20th March 2023 is a public holiday. However, he is not the official government officer mandated to call for public holidays. The only office in authority to declare a 20th March 2023 public holiday is the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government in Kenya.

Among the issues President William Ruto is pushed to fulfil is to lower the cost of living.
