Babrah Peres is a Kenyan Writer and Gospel musician who many have failed to differentiate with Mercy Masika. Peres looks perfectly like the Mwema hit maker Mercy Masika. She was named after her grandmother Peres a name that means break through.

Having been born is Nairobi (28, February, 1987). Babrah was then taken to ushago where she was strengthen by the upcountry harsh life. Kwa Damu hit maker says she grew up amongst many children of the family a situation that led to high food competition.

She has grown up in Siaya.

Sharing her story with Anthony Ndiema on radio Maisha, Peres closeness with God started in calls 4 and developed while in secondary school. This is after her CU teacher anointing her to help in prayers. She says her power was working through her to heal friends.

In college Babrah Peres made a research on what instrument God wants her to serve His people. In college after reading bible and engaging God in prayers, Peres discovered she is supposed to serve God through singing. She also led praise and worship in church but had a big problem on how to pray.

“After I finished Secondary school education I dedicated my life to God through prayers, worship and fasting. Through fasting I came to discover the power behind fasting and praying.”

She says through fasting and praying that is when she discovered thr benefits of each.

“Kama haujawahi kufinga na Kuomba, your life is limited.”

She started singing in the year 2013 but thing did not work to her expectations. After getting married in 2016, her husband kept on encouraging her to make a come back in Music. By then she was a praise a nd worship leader. This helped promote her ability to sing more so on live performances and recording.
