Mike Sonko rose to a famous politician first through his generous hand of giving and sharing with the needy in the society. He also made it to national politics after being elected as a Member of Parliament representing Makadara constituency. By the time he was in Makadara, he was only 35 years old. He also served as a Senator representing Nairobians and overlooking Governor Evans Kidero’s governance.
In the senatorial position, Mike Sonko formed a rescue team popularly Sonko Rescue Team. This was an official NGO that was put in place to offer urgent services whenever their was need in the county.
