Maungu Area accident Involving Tahmeed Bus and an Elephant at Tsavo East National Park

Passengers on the Tahmeed bus got involved in a road accident after the bus hit the elephant along Nairobi – Mombasa highway at Maungu area. According to sources, the animal was killed and one person left with serious injuries.

Other passengers with minor injuries were taken to Moi County referral hospital in Voi where they are receiving medical attention.

From the police report released after the incident, the Tahmeed bus was on its way to Nairobi from Mombasa Saturday night. It is said that the driver was at an unmanageable speed when he collided with the elephant that was crossing the road into Tsavo East National Park.

Authorities have called upon drivers to be very keen why on the road.
