KNEC Circular on Administration of 2023 CBA for Grade 3, 4, and 5 – PDF Download
Kenya National Examination Council has updated all Sub-County Directors of Education, Heads of Primary Schools and Heads of Special Primary schools on administration of 2023 CBA for grade 3, 4, and 5.
Administration of the Year 2023 Competency Based Assessment (CBA)
The Kenya National Examination Council will upload on the CBA Portal the following;
- KEYA – Kenya Early Years tools for Grade 3 and KPLEA – Kenya Foundation Level Education Assessment for learners with special needs.
- School Based Assessment tools for Grade 4 & 5.
How to Access the CBA KNEC portal
To access the assessment portal, headteachers are required to log into the CBA portal via https://cba.knec.ac.ke. Schools will be expected to administer the assessment tools, score and upload the assessment outcomes of all learners on the CBA portal.
The assessment tools will be provided in two formats. These are in PDF and Digital format.
How to access CBA tools in PDF Format
This is accessible by the schools heads. First, log in to the CBA Portal using school credentials. Username and Password.
Download the tools and print. These PDF tools can be either printed, projected of written on the board. Learners are expected to write responses on the question papers or any other writing materials provided by the school.
How to Access the CBA tools in Digital format.
The digital format is accessible by the learners. To access the tools in this format, individual learners are required to log into the portal using their respective assessment numbers. However, the learners will be required to give their responses on writing materials provided by the school.
NOTE TO SCHOOLS: Schools are encouraged to allow learners access the tools directly using the DLPs or any other available digital devices such as a desktop computer and laptops.
