No More boarding of learners in Primary and Junior Secondary Schools. This is to start effective January 2023. The bad and good news was shared by Education Principal Secretary (PS) Belio Kipsang.

“We must create a way in which we can be with our children and the only way is through day schooling. The first nine years of learning that are Grades 1 to 9, the direction that the government is taking will be day schooling,” Kipsang’ said.

Changes in Administration of KCPE and KCSE examination

Basis Education PS also announced few changes in the administration of National Examinations. This equally affects the KCPE and KCSE administration where teachers are accompanied by police officers carrying guns in class.

As much as that is aimed to keep security, Belio urged that the nation should bounce back to the system where no police officer is expected to at the examination centre guarding the process.

“We need to go back to that system where we do not have police officers providing a round the clock security of national examinations,” Kipsang announced.
