25th May, 2023 Nairobi Kenya, Ex- Mingiki Leader Maina Njenga charged with 12 offenses.

Former Mungiki Leader Maina Njenga stand to face criminal charges. On Thursday 25th May 2023, Maina Njenga presented himself to the Kenya DCI headquarters for questioning.

At the DCI office, he was in company by Azimio high profile Leaders like the Azimio Deputy Presidential Candidate Martha Karua, Former Jubilee Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Mwangi Wa Iria, Jeramiah Kioni, and 2022 Roots Party Presidetial Candidate Professor Gerge Wajackoyah and Local supporters.

He is found in this scandal after the DCI brought to public attention that Maina Njenga had unauthorized firearms and some rolls of bhang in Nakuru.

After presenting himself to Nakuru DCI office, that is when he ws refereed to Nairobi. After a while, the Ex- Mungiki leader Maina Njenga was released and charged with 12 offenses. some of these offenses are,

  1. Being a member of an organized criminal gang.
  2. Addressing a meeting at Wanyororo area to encourage support of Mungiki.
  3. Engaging in criminal activities.
  4. Being in possession of military back pack strap which is a government property suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.
