David Oginde Nominated as the EACC Chairperson By President Ruto

David Oginde, former Bishop of Christ Is The Answer Ministries (CITAM), is now nominated for the EACC chairperson position by President William Ruto.

EACC in full is the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission. The Commission consists of a Chairperson and four other members appointed according to the provisions of the Constitution and Section 4 of the EACC Act. The Commission has a Secretariat, headed by the Secretary/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to the Commission.

Through social media, Mr. Oginde expressed his gratitude to the president, thanking him for the opportunity.

“May I take this opportunity to thank His Exceĺlency Williams Ruto for nomination to chair the EACC. Well appreciated, ” Oginde States.

David Oginde is set to replace EACC Chairman Rtd. Archbishop Eliud Wabukala, who was nominated into the position by former President Uhuru Kenyatta and retired early 2023 after serving for 6 years.

David Oginde’s name awaits approval by the National Assembly.

Oginde’s name survived the nomination after the Public Service commission conducted an interview and submitted 3 names to the president. The other two are former Makueni County Governor Kivutha Kibwana and Amani Yuda Komara. The three were shortlisted from a candidature of 14 people.

Bishop David Oginde’s nomination has, however, kept KOT taking, raising mixed reactions concerning the nomination.

1. Christine Adika

I admired your service at CITAM and became a member. You retired well. Why taint yourself just because of selfish wordly gains . You will never know peace, and I believe that you too hopes for a better Kenya for ur generations.

2. Bonnie Musambi

You are equal to the task, Bishop.
Your stint at Citam proved that you’re a man of change and style. I have been a member of Parklands ministry.

3. Murenga

Congratulations, Bishop. We, in the house and family of believers, do celebrate with you. Put your hands on it and work as you are doing it for the LORD HIMSELF.

David Oginde will start his work upon approval by the Kenya National Assembly.
