BABU OWINO TRANSFERRED TO GIRIGIRI POLICE STATION AFTER ARRESTS OVER DJ EVOLVES SHOOTING IN THE CLUB

Embakasi MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has been transferred to the Gigiri Police Station.

He had initially been taken to the Kilimani Police Station after his arrest over the shooting of Felix Orinda popularly known as DJ Evolve.

“He (Babu Owino) was transferred to the Gigiri Police Station to avoid the kind of traffic that was here yesterday….people insisting that they want to talk to him…his supporters and everybody because at that point they were interfering with investigations ,” his lawyer Cliff Ombeta said on Saturday.

Ombeta also revealed that police officers conducted a search at Babu Owino’s home in what he believes was an operation to recover ammunition.

He said Mr. Owino may be taken to court on Monday but the charges depends on the condition of the victim.

Ombeta further noted that there has been no indication of what the charges might be and he cannot speculate.

He added that if police intend to hold the MP for a longer period, they will have to go to court and ask for more time.

Babu Owino is alleged to have shot DJ Evolve at B Club in Kilimani at 7am on Friday morning.

The DJ was rushed to the Nairobi Hospital where he underwent an emergency surgery to remove the bullet that was lodged in his neck.

He underwent another operation later that day after he developed a blood clot.

Radio presenter Joe Muchiri said the operation went well and his friend was now recuperating.

“DJ Evolve has left a successful surgery. Now we sit tight and wait for the recovery process to begin, it’s not an easy journey especially when nerves are involved. I wish him all the best at this time,” he said.
